Case hardening steels have good wear resistance. For example, 16MnCr5 has tensile strength ranging from 900-1100 N/mm². 16MnCr5 is used for used to make shafts, axles, gears, gear wheels, bolts, levers and other transport and machine-building components.20MnCr5 is a case hardened grade with good hardenability and good wear resistance. The surface hardness is high after hardening.
